Getting "up in years", we wanted a larger, more comfortable boat, and purchased our 10M because, to us, it represents great value compared to later model boats from the large manufacturers. The 10M has a very functional cockpit layout which allows it to be easily single-handed. The cabin layout, with fold up table is roomy and very seaworthy. The boat is heavily constructed, with oversize rigging, lead keel and is "bullet proof". The relatively heavy displacement and long, 29 foot, waterline gives a smooth ride with good speed. My understanding is that Bill Shaw designed the 10M to sail around the world. My wife and I sail every weekend and cruise Long Island Sound, Block Island, Nantucket etc every summer. We agree that the 10M has added years to our sailing life due to it's comfort and ease of sailing!  Dexter (Deck) and Donna Below
